A very fine uncreased clean envelope sent by George Howard, 6th Earl of Carlisle, signed lower left sent from Whitwell, Aug 16th 1834, to Lady Holland at Kensington, with a London FREE mark dated 18th but also a TP/RATE 2 boxed placed over the signature indicating to pay. On reverse a faint ‘Whitwell’ UDC  - probably Isle of Wight. As a Minister he would have benefited from free postage
